The Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business (HUWIB) is Harvard’s largest undergraduate business organization. On November 3rd and 4th, 2018, HUWIB hosts its second annual Young Women in Business Leadership Conference (YWBLC). The panel discussions explored the ways in which women are changing the business world. Discussion topics included:

  • Dividing Into Media & Journalism
  • Nonprofits, Philanthropy and Education
  • Intersection of Business and Healthcare
  • Breaking Down Fashion & Retail
  • Intersection of Business and Technology
  • Breaking into the Food & Retail Industries
  • Careers in Marketing & Advertising
  • Do It Yourself Entrepreneurship
  • Women of Wall Street

To represent female empowerment and leadership, keynote speakers included: Rachel Zarrell (editorial leader and producer at BuzzFeed), Aya Kanai (Chief Fashion Director at Hearst Publications overseeing Cosmopolitan, Women’s Health, and more.), and Shelmina Babai Abji (former IBM Vice President), and Louise Roe (Television presenter, and fashion journalist).

This year, Vienne of VienneMilano was invited to speak at the "Do It Yourself Entrepreneurship" panel alongside with Kimberly Jung, Former CEO of Ruminator Spice, Hannah Raudsepp (Founder of Honest Beef), Miracle Olantunji (Founder of OpportuniMe).

Panelists addressed topics including their background and career paths, the most challenging and rewarding aspect of being an entrepreneur, and work-life balance. The Harvard YWBLC conference was a fabulous opportunity to listen to and learn from some of the most powerful women in the industry. Further, the ability to connect after gave young attendees a chance to meet professionals and ask questions.
