Women In Fashion: Ace NextGen Event
- Chinese Proverb. If you want happiness for an hour take a nap. If you want happiness for a day go fishing. If you want happiness for a year inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime help someone else.
As a minority woman owned business, we are a firm believer in helping those who want to help themselves. That’s why we were so excited to be invited as a panelists in ACE NextGen’s Women’s Initiative: Women In Fashion Running Businesses. Per the name, the purpose of the event is to help other female entrepreneurs grow their business as the panel discussions explored ways in which fashion companies (both brick and mortar and eCommerce) began and grow.
Vienne Brown, Founder of VienneMilano, was invited to speak on the panel alongside Samantha Shih (Founder of 9 Tailors), and Lilian Hung (Founder of Lyra Vega Bridal). The panel was moderated by CL Tian (Founder of Pinkoa), and co-hosted by Elizabeth Yang (Founder of Better With Company). The discussion took place at the swanky 9 Tailors located in the heart of Boston.
The discussions revolved around the early days of each business and how the founders overcame difficult challenges to grow their brands into what they are now. The panelists shared anecdotes of failures and successes they encountered throughout the years, and what they learned from each experience.
ACE NextGen is a prestigious institution which offers support to the AAPI Entrepreneur Community. Many of today's Asian American leaders are part of ACE NextGen, making it an honor for VienneMilano to be part of this event.
